Rechargeable battery
OffGrid contains a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery* (UN3841).
OffGrid is an ultra-low-power device and built for always-on operation.
A full charge should last between 12-16 hours of intensive use.
*Never attempt to discard the built-in battery (or OffGrid) in the trash bin.
Please contact a certified electronics recycler that accepts Li-Ion batteries.
Reading battery level
OffGrid's battery level is color-coded on Pad A when Shifter 1 or Shifter 2 are pressed and held.
Green backlight signifies full charge;
Yellow a sufficient charge;
Red a low charge*.
*If a critically low battery charge is detected, OffGrid will alert the user by signaling the built-in Buzzer and flashing Pad A red three times in quick succession, it will default to the DEEP SLEEP state afterward.
Charging OffGrid
Please connect OffGrid to a charger, power bank, or host device with its own power supply using the included USB Type-C to Type-A cable*.
OffGrid will instantly attempt to negotiate a data connection over USB.
If a data connection is possible, OffGrid will enumerate as a class-compliant USB MIDI controller and load the default Preset configuration. It will still attempt its best to charge while connected to the host.
If the target device is a USB Type-A charger or power bank, OffGrid will default to charging.
Pad A will blink to signify charging.
A full charge is signified by Pad A lighting up green without blinking.
*OffGrid is designed for backward compatibility with MIDI 1.0 devices and will only work with USB Type-C to Type-A cables. Please only use the included cable or USB Type-C to Type-A replacement type to connect OffGrid to a host or charge OffGrid.
